True patriotism springs from a belief in the dignity of the individual, freedom and equality not only for Americans but for all people on earth, universal brotherhood and good will, and a constant and earnest striving toward the principles and ideals on which this country was founded." - Eleanor Roosevelt
Family of Service

Sons of the American Legion (SAL)
The Sons of The American Legion was created in 1932 as an organization within The American Legion. The SAL is made up of boys and men of all ages whose parents or grandparents served in the United States military and became eligible for membership in The American Legion. Together, members of The American Legion, The American Legion Auxiliary and the Sons of The American Legion make up what is known as the Legion Family. All three organizations place high importance on preserving our American traditions and values, improving the quality of life for our nation's children, caring for veterans and their families, and perhaps most importantly, teaching the fundamentals of good citizenship

Auxiliary (AUX)
Founded in 1919, the American Legion Auxiliary’s mission is to support The American Legion and to honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of our veterans, military, and their families, both at home and abroad. For God and country, we advocate for veterans, educate our citizens, mentor youth, and promote patriotism, good citizenship, peace and security.

American Legion
(Post)
The American Legion, founded in 1919 and chartered by Congress, is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization. With a mission rooted in service, advocacy, and patriotism, the Legion supports veterans, active-duty service members, and their families while strengthening communities nationwide. Through veteran advocacy, youth programs, and community service initiatives, The American Legion continues to honor those who served and promote the values of citizenship, leadership, and national pride.

American Legion Riders (ALR)
The primary purpose of the American Legion Riders (ALR) is to support the community, country, and veterans through motorcycle-related activities. This includes raising funds for The American Legion's Legacy Scholarship Fund for children of fallen or disabled servicemembers, participating in patriotic events, supporting veterans through donations and events, and escorting fallen military personnel to their funerals. The ALR emphasizes charity, camaraderie, patriotism, and community service, distinguishing itself from traditional motorcycle clubs by adhering to The American Legion's programs and principles.
